Top Apps Every Entrepreneur Should Download

Apps on apps on apps- for literally anything a person may need. Downloads on downloads on downloads crowding up your phone. When was the last time you deleted apps you didn't use? Do you use every single one?

As a small business owner, I love trying out every new app that promises further productivity, storage and focus. After years of trying the latest and greatest then purging the unused apps, these are my tried and true apps that keep me on my game everyday.

Here are the top apps all my fellow entrepreneurs should download now:

Track It With Toggl

As a business owner, you're always busy with every second of your day doing a client task or working on a project that'll further scale your business. But do you track all your time? One of the biggest losses in an owner's day is time so by tracking what you do each day with a timer maps out where you're spending MOST of your time. That way you can edit how you spend your time and up the ante at your desk.

My favorite app to track my time is Toggl. You can log tasks and projects under clients, color code them, add tags and pull reports to see how you allocate your time. Plus, it's hella easy to use.

Stay Focused With Forest

Notifications are the bane of everyone's existence. I've turned off task management and email notifications eons ago to keep my mind sane. Turning off those notifications gives you the change to focus on tasks for longer without interruptions.

This is the precise reason why I use Forest! Choose what sites to shut-down notifications from, time your focus and grow a tree - all at the same time. Grow your focus, your business and a tree! That's a win-win.

Be Productive With Trello

If you haven't said 'Hello!' to Trello yet, you're sleeping. I consider Trello to be my business bestie. Highly organized, pretty to look at and holding me accountable at all times, I run my personal, business and client work all throughout Trello's boards. Automations, labels, color-coding and integrations make this an all-in-one stop shop for any kind of entrepreneur. Both apps- desktop and mobile are equally helpful no matter where you are, which is difficult to say about most desktop to mobile platforms. So what do you say? "Hello?"

Get Socially Grounded With Later

I think we can all comfortably say that social is a beast! A beast that needs to be tamed on our end to drive our business's message into the world. So any help to make it easier to write, schedule and post on all platforms is always welcomed. Later is the answer!

You can store and organize all your photos, get a feed view/month view of scheduled content, save your hashtags, analyze performance and store tagged user generated content to re-post later. All the while have your posts on auto while you're busy getting things done. Did I mention that you can schedule stories too? All-in-one social superman, Later is my go-to for everything social.

Walkie Out With Voxer

Remember walkie talkies? They are still a thing and I personally use an app just like it to chat with my team. Voice notes through text are fine, but those eventually expire. Instead of typing up long emails or comments in Trello, just Vox it! Voxer acts just like a walkie talkie and stores the messages for as long as you have the app or delete the conversation. Which is useful for voice notes about edits, quick project updates and answering questions.

The app also allows you to text within it or share your location like any normal communication app. This app is perfect for me as I prefer to chat with my clients and team on any platform besides texting. Voxer is fun, professional and it works! Over and out.

Get Creative With Canva

Not a creative, but still want to do creative things? Get Canva! It's honestly the closest thing that comes to Adobe without the advance level of design tools and buttons including the price tag. For some of us, we don't need all the bells and whistles or don't have the time available to learn Adobe Suite. But we still have to design graphics for social, business cards for introductions and other marketing materials for the world. Canva comes with templates that are all customizable, the ability to upload all your brand's information, stock photography and ways to publish straight to social from its apps. One stop design shop!

Visit Your Zen Den With Insight Timer

To keep your mind balanced, I like trying out meditation and mindfulness apps. There are certainly plenty of apps out there designed to keep your zen throughout the day, but the one that works for free? Insight Timer! They have so many different guided meditations for whatever you need- stress relief, abundance, chakra balancing, mindfulness. What's even better is that you can filter by length of time, so there is no excuse to fit a little bit of zen in to your day!

In office and out of office, these apps keep my head balanced, time managed, communication seamless, creativity flowing and tasks organized. Try one or try them all, I can guarantee these apps will survive the annual phone purge. Plus, 99% of these apps are also available online, so if you're away from your phone you can still get work done at your desk. Which of my favorite apps have you tried?
