Reflecting on My 30th Year
It’s officially Virgo season! And boy, does it feel like a breath of fresh air.
Not just because we’re signaling a whole new season ahead, but there’s just something about your birthday month that feels like home. The energy feels familiar but renewing at the same time. There’s excitement but also major moments of reflection to see how far you’ve come.
I’ll be the first to tell you- Thirty was one hell of a year. I met some major blockages and obstacles that I need to heal and move through to experience some next level changes. I learned that change is constant. I learned to absolutely surrender control over anything that was out of my hands. And the most important of all- I learned to protect my energy.
Here are some of the highlights:
It marked five years going into business.
It all started from one major anxiety attack at my advertising job to realizing I could turn my passion of helping women with burnout into a business with Vow & Vast then by using spiritual practices with Remotely Balanced. I realized pivoting my offerings is essential and that I work in seasons. Now I help others realize and live their dreams while living my own.
I faced some serious shadow work.
This year was all about healing. Starting with my scarcity mindset then steamrolling into the roles I play in relationships- it has been a time of triggering moments, self-awareness and taking action. It’s an everyday practice and nothing is perfect but I’ve never felt healthier taking care of my mental health.
I traveled - saw some beautiful places, met amazing people and ate great food.
I followed my intuition’s nudges. It hasn’t led me wrong yet. From Mexico City, Houston, Charlotte, Greece, NYC and Barcelona, these places hold an incredible amount of space in my heart. Each place I’ve met and grown relationships with amazing people who will be a part of my life forever. And some people who came into my life to teach me a very valuable lesson. Each place I’ve had either a dose of super-productivity, a hit of creativity, felt really connected with my spirituality or started a whole business. In each place, I’ve seen friends and family absolutely thrive- finishing degrees, getting engaged, creating a lifestyle for themselves that nourishes their soul, work on themselves, crushing goals in their businesses or jobs and moving to their dream locations. Travel has given me the privilege to witness or celebrate these major moments in real time.
Started truly living and honoring my cycle as well as Human Design.
It’s no secret that I’m obsessed with learning more about my cycle and Human Design to curate a lifestyle that truly feels aligned, spacious and easeful to me. This past year was the moment I truly started experimenting and embodying what I’ve been learning. Now stepping into 31, I can now clearly see what boundaries have helped me thrive, spiritual practices that continue to keep my soul nourished and how to take care of my body and mind- day in and day out. It’s not perfect every day, but it’s a start!
Witnessed the gradual shift to put down roots.
This one was major as someone who can’t sit still for too long in one spot. I got my first major pangs of wanting to build a home of my own. Move to a different city. Try slowing down. Committing a little. You know, adulting in a traditional sense. I started craving stability and consistency. And it feels good! If that isn’t returning to my Virgo roots, I don’t know what is.
This year I’m meeting the version of me I’ve always had my mind’s eye on. I’ve caught glimpses of her this year, but there’s something about 31 that feels cemented in. I’m doing whatever I want fearlessly and saying yes to everything that scares me. I’m focusing on changing habits to aid more healing and self-awarness. I’m nourishing my body through consistent exercise, being in nature and feeding myself well. And as always, continuing to slow down, rest, and honor my energy’s ebbs and flows.
Your turn:
What does you future you look like? Have you got a glimpse yet or met them?
What has your this year pointed out to you?
What are you currently healing?
What seeds are you planting this month?
